Professional Interests

I taught and published in the general area of interdisciplinary Humanities for 20 years before assuming the mantle of research professor of history. My research publications included books and articles on 19th century British society and technology. I also taught and published in the field of historiography and historical theory. Since retiring to the mountains of Colorado I have helped create a new library district and served six terms as its president. Betty and I are curators of a historic house museum, and I serve as secretary and grant writer for the Nederland community center foundation. Daily hiking or snowshoe treks keep us healthy.
