Several members of the History Advisory Council honored Dr. Cordier with an announcement at the October 2013 reception. The Sherwood Cordier Endowment for Excellence and Innovation in Teaching has been created in his honor.
Grants will be awarded to students in the graduate program of the Department of History in recognition of excellence and innovation in the teaching of History.

The Endowment recently reached $10,000 in donations and became an active endowment. Dr. Cordier signed the papers to activate it and give direction to the department on funding from the endowment.
