Waskar Ari to be Visiting Professor for Spring 2005

Waskar Ari will be teaching as a Visiting Professor in Spring 2005. He will teach two courses, History 471, Latin America, which will focus on race and nationalism in Latin America and History 370, History of Latin America. His research interests include race and nationalism in Latin America and twentieth century African-American civil rights. His publications include the award-winning Historia de una esperanza: Agrarian Economic Change and Millenarianism and Tata Fermin, co-authored with Pablo Regalsy. Ari will receive his PhD in History in Fall 2004 from Georgetown University. He is a native of Bolivia.
