His April lecture will be based on his book, War Stars.
The Department of History’s Hamner Lecture Series was generously endowed in 1999 by Professor Emeritus H. Nicholas Hamner. Nick Hamner was a member of the WMU History Faculty 1956-1992 and remains a loyal friend and supporter.
The Annual Hamner Lectures are intended to bring historians of national and international repute to our campus, offering students and faculty the opportunity come to know their work through personal interaction. The lectures are open to the entire campus and the surrounding community and are also often attended by colleagues from other institutions and an interested public from beyond Kalamazoo.
The first Hamner Lecture was presented in November 2000 by James W. Loewen, author of Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong.
