A Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Lee Honors College website. Here you will find useful information about who we are, what we do, and most importantly what we can offer you. This is an exciting time for the Lee Honors College; our student body is growing, our programs are thriving, and next year we will improve and increase the size of our wonderful student-friendly Lee Honors College building.

What will not change is our commitment to you. At a time when jobs are hard to come by, the faculty and staff of the LHC  has redesigned our programming to provide each student with a wide array of courses, curricular, and co-curricular programs that will help you build a rich and diverse portfolio of skills and experiences, and to make learning a lifelong passion.

Our signature organizing principle is the creation of “The Distinctive Student.” We want you to become “distinctive” in a way of your own choosing. We believe that being distinctive will provide you with a realistic opportunity to:

• Get the job you desire in their chosen field, location, and/or organization
• Be admitted into the professional or graduate school you wish to enter
• Join your desired theater, music, dance company or art institute, and
• Position yourself for a successful career and life

Our alumni are the best evidence and living proof that an honors education at WMU pays dividends throughout a career and lifetime. We are proud of their accomplishments and the tradition of scholarly excellence and community service. We count among our graduates more than two thousand distinguished scientists, physicians, nurses, engineers, attorneys, teachers, musicians, and artists.
