Move-In Schedule Fall 2015

Western Michigan University is excited to welcome students to campus! With 5,000 students anxious to move in and get settled, we’ve designed a move-in system that differentiates between new and returning students. Please refer to the chart below to see what date and, for new students, what time you should arrive.

The residence halls will not open their doors prior to the official move-in time, so you don’t need to arrive early to “beat the rush.”  We’ve already taken care of spreading out arrival times to minimize your wait for unloading, checking in and the elevators.

To all returning students moving in to the residence halls:

As summer is coming to a close we wanted to touch base with all of you regarding fall move-in. As you know, the first day returning students can begin moving into their residence hall is on Friday, Sept. 4. If you plan on moving into your hall on Friday, Sept. 4 we need you to move in between 8 a.m. and noon because traffic flow will be extremely congested due to the WMU/MSU football game and moving in any time after noon on Friday will not be possible. Please keep in mind that you may move in to your hall any time, Saturday through Monday of Labor Day weekend. We want to thank you in advance for your assistance with this and Go Broncos!

Early arrival—Can I move in before my scheduled date?

Students are not able to move in earlier than their assigned move-in date. If you have a conflict, you are welcome to move in at a later time than your scheduled arrival day. You do not need to arrive on your assigned day.

Late arrival—Can I move in after my scheduled date?

You are welcome to move in any day after your assigned move-in date. Students who will be moving in after the first week of school should contact the Residence Life office so their room can be held.

Fall Welcome participants who will not be arriving on their move-in day should contact the First Year Experience office at (269) 387-2167 for directions on checking into the program. You will need a program book, ambassador group assignment and name tag to eat.
