What to Bring
Some good basic items to pack are:
- Computer
- Pillow
- Blanket
- Sheets (extra long twin)
- Towels
- Hangers
- Clothes for all weather
- Alarm clock
- Auto shut-off iron
- Laundry basket
- Laundry detergent
- Cleaning supplies
- Trash can (or request one from your hall when you move in)
- Toiletries
- Robe
- Flip flops for community bathrooms
- Shower caddy to carry your toiletries to the shower
- First aid kit (basics like Band-Aids and mercury-free thermometer)
- Sewing kit
- Basic dishes and utensils
- Poster putty or 3M adhesive strips for putting things on the walls
- Snack food
- Fan
- Planner or calendar
- Pictures, posters or other items to decorate the room
- Multi-outlet strip with a circuit breaker
Electrical Equipment
All electrical equipment must have an approved UL rating. Appliances or equipment such as ceiling fans may never be directly wired to a residence hall. Irons, coffee makers and electrical tea pots are permitted in your room, as long as they are equipped with an auto shut-off feature and fully enclosed heating elements.
Microwaves and Refrigerators
Microwaves and small refrigerators are permitted in your room. MicroFridges, a combination refrigerator, freezer and microwave unit, are available for rent through Bedloft.
