Each fiscal year, Western Michigan University staff compensation system employees work with their supervisors to determine personal job objectives and targeted competencies. This interactive process continues throughout the year and includes periodic feedback sessions and a written year-end review.
Timeline for performance management process
- June through August: Determine objectives and competencies; complete form.
- Throughout year: Supervisor provides employee with informal feedback and direction.
- May: Supervisor conducts year-end review with employee. Employee notes comments and supervisor notes comments and ratings on form.
