IME 5160 - Design of Experiments and Regression Analysis

Catalog Description:

Topics related to experimental design and regression analysis. Topics include randomized blocks, latin squares, factorials, multiple correlation and regression, and its application to response surfaces.

Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: Recommended, IME 2610 or equivalent.

Credits: 3 hours

Prerequisites by Topic:

The stated prerequisite for this course is IME 2610. This is a three (3) credit hour, calculus based statistics course. You should have an equivalent background in order to not be disadvantaged in taking this course. See the WMU course catalog for a description of IME 2610.

Course Objectives:

  1. Provide an understanding of applied statistical concepts for decision making.
  2. Provide an understanding of the analysis of variance and classical experimental designs.
  3. Provide an understanding of various experimental design models and their application in industry.
  4. Provide an understanding of how to analyze designed experiments using MINITAB.
