Bronco NetID for Faculty and Staff

Your Bronco NetID is your Western Michigan University username for all major systems, including GoWMU, Elearning and Webmail Plus. Coupled with your password, it gives you access to online services in GoWMU, email and more.

You should have received your Bronco NetID with a temporary password when you were hired. To activate your Bronco NetID, go to gowmu.wmich.edu and click either First Time Logging in or Set Your Password. You will need to enter a new password, and you will be prompted to create a challenge phrase. This will allow you to reset your password if you forget it.

Never share your password with anyone!

Passwords must be changed at least once a year. You will receive reminders when your password is about to expire. For more information, see password guidelines and the password management policyNever share your password with anyone and change it frequently.

If you forget your Bronco NetID

If you do not remember your Bronco NetID, you may contact the Help Desk at (269) 387-4357, option 1. You will receive a temporary password, which you can use to reset your password.

Email address

Email addresses are created at the time of Bronco NetID creation. It is in the format of firstname.lastname at wmich.edu. It is the address used for all official mailings from WMU. Email to students should be sent using the student's official wmich.edu address.
