Description(s):

My research interest is in the explanation of language structure, particularly at the morphological and syntactic levels, through the use of behavioral principles such as operant conditioning, equivalency, and relational framing. In recent years I have presented papers in this area at meetings of the Association for Behavior Analysis.

Brief description of course content/focus: This course focuses on introducing the mechanics of language structure, covering morphology, syntax and phonology. Problems from real and invented language are introduced. Additional units cover semantics, biological foundations of language, language change, and language distribution.
