Master of Arts Admissions

Application Information

Applications are accepted on an on-going basis throughout the year. Admission decisions take about four weeks from the time when all material is received. If you are applying for the HESA concentration, make certain you consider the deadlines and also complete the steps addressed in Part C below.

The following Part A and B items are required of all students as part of the application package:

Part A:

1. Completed Graduate Application Form (This can be submitted online). Students seeking readmission need to complete a readmission form.
   
2. One official transcript from every higher education institution you have ever attended (except WMU) even if you did not receive a completed degree.

Part B:

1. A Career and Professional Goals Paper. This paper needs to address four (4) questions as to why you are applying for this program and how it fits within your overall career and professional goals. Follow the directions in this Career and Professional Goals document.
   
2. Completed Program Concentration Selection Form .
   (This document may be saved to your computer, completed on screen, and saved again as your document).

Part C (for HESA applicants only) Return with part B materials.

1. Resume
2. Three references on departmental forms
3. Applicants who wish to participate in the HESA Interview Day Program must submit all admission materials, including reference forms, by mid-December.
4. Applicants interested in applying for any WMU fellowships must apply by Jan. 15, using the directions posted by the Graduate College.
