What
is an RSS Feed?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's an easy, no-hassle way of getting late-breaking news in your field of study or research delivered automatically to you. An RSS reader automatically lets you view the news you sign up for, just like e-mail.
There are many readers available for download, both free and for a fee. See the Google Directory list of newsreaders for a good list to choose from. Once you either sign up for free reader, all you do is copy and paste a web address into it and you'll automatically receive news related to that topic. The reader automatically checks for new content and delivers it to you via your RSS reader.
This is a pilot program, the URL prefix: http://libproxy.library.wmich.edu/login?url= will need to be added to the URL of the content in order to properly authenticate and connect to the resource.

Feeds for Journal Table of Contents
Feeds with an * asterisk currently do not work well with our off campus EZProxy authentication system.
- * Cambridge Journals (These feeds are only available if the user registers.)
- ACS Publications
- * Nature Publishing Group
- Blackwell Synergy (If you select a specific journal title, the RSS link is on the left hand side.)
- Annual Reviews (Select a journal title and the RSS link is on the right hand side.)
- * Highwire Press (Not all journals offer RSS at this time. Sage publications do work with EZProxy, but non-Sagepub titles through Highwire do not seem to work correctly.)
- Institute of Physics
- * LEA (If you select a specific journal title, the RSS link will be in the header. Look for the button that says "XML")
- Wiley Interscience (If you select a specific journal title, the RSS link will be in the header.)
- * Metapress (Metapress dynamically creates RSS feeds not only for each journal but for all searches and browses. For example, if you browse for all books, click the small orange button on the upper right hand corner by the search results you will have an RSS feed which displays the most recently added books.)
- Emerald
- IngentaConnect (If you select a specific journal title, the RSS link will be on the right side.)
- ProjectMUSE
- Sage Publication (If you select a specific journal title, the RSS link is on the journal's homepage.)
- * Informaworld (If you select a specific journal title, the RSS link is in the upper right corner.)
