AISC Specifications and Codes Page

The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) provides many of its current specifications and codes as downloadable PDFs for free from this website. Information contained here includes the "Code of Standard Practice for Structural Steel Buildings and Bridges" (AISC 303-05).

IHS Standards Expert restricted

This database allows users to search more than 1 million standards from over 370 standards organizations.  Faculty and graduate students only may request individual standards for purchase through approval by the engineering librarian.  Users need to set up a personal account to order standards.  Undergraduate students need to contact the engineering librarian edward.eckel@wmich.edu for assistance with using our Interlibrary Loan service to borrow a copy of a necessary standard.

SAE Digital Library restricted

Contains detailed summaries and citations to more than 85,000 documents, including Technical Papers and Standards, published by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) since 1906. Covers research in all areas of mobility engineering including ground vehicle, aerospace, off-highway, and manufacturing technology. Includes the full text of thousands of technical reports from 1998 to present. Note that the SAE standards are not available in full text in this database.

Librarian's Comment: Provides online index to SAE standards. Text available by cross-referencing to the SAE Handbook, Science Reference, TL151 .S62.
