The following databases have been recently purchased by the University Libraries (or are important free databases recently come online) and are now available for use by the community.

A browsable electronic archive of Barron's, Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post newspapers from 2008. Most recent 3 months not usually available. Full cover-to-cover content includes photos, graphs, and tables. Retrieved content can be cropped, zoomed, rotated, printed, emailed, or saved in PDF format. Use of Internet Explorer is recommended. *Note: At this time, Digital Microfilm is not compatible with Firefox 3.6.x for Windows Operating Systems.
Counseling and Therapy in Video Volume 2
Search and browse a collection of video available for the study of social work, psychotherapy, psychology, and psychiatric counseling. This database complements Counseling and Therapy in Video Volume 1, both volume 1 and volume 2 can be searched simultaneously. Volume 2 adds about 300 hours of streaming video content.

Currently provides 924 titles, equaling approximately 738 hours.

Early American Imprints, Series I: Evans 1639-1800 
Search full text of almanacs, broadsides, laws, maps, narratives, pamphlets, speeches, textbooks, treaties and more from the 17th and 18th centuries. The database can be browsed by genre, subjects, author, history of printing, place of publication and language.

Searchable and browsable database of streaming video developed specifically for training and developing teachers. Videos include teaching demonstrations, lectures, documentaries, and primary-source footage of students and teachers in actual classrooms.

Criminal Justice Periodicals Index Online (ProQuest Criminal Justice) 
Searchable and browsable database of U.S.and international criminal justice journals. The database includes abstract and indexing for over 400 titles, with more than 170 available in full text.

FDsys, short for Federal Digital System, provides electronic access to information from the three branches of government. FDsys resources include; The Congressional Record, The Federal Register, The Code of Federal Regulations, The Compilation of Presidential Documents, Public and Private Laws, the United States Code, reports from the Government Accountability Office as well as numerous other resources. The basic FDsys search feature searches across all of these resources.

This database allows users to search more than 1 million standards from over 370 standards organizations. Faculty and graduate students only may request individual standards for purchase through approval by the engineering librarian. Users need to set up a personal account to order standards. Undergraduate students need to contact the engineering librarian edward.eckel@wmich.edu for assistance with using our Interlibrary Loan service to borrow a copy of a necessary standard.

Cambridge structural database system 
Searchable database containing crystal structure information, chemical, and bibliographic data for about 400000 organic and metal-organic compounds. Note: This software requires Browser Pop-ups to be disabled.
