This digital library provides full text access to all 30 ASCE Journal and Periodical volumes published since 1995. (Some journals are available going back a little further.)

ICE Virtual Library (Institution of Civil Engineers, UK)

Free searchable database to every peer-reviewed paper published by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) in Great Britain from 1836 to 2001. Order articles through Interlibrary Loan.

TRID (Transportation Research Board Database)

TRID provides access to over 900,000 records of transportation research worldwide.

Applied Science Abstracts restricted

Basic undergraduate engineering database. It covers only English-language journals, no conferences. WMU libraries own about 60% of the titles indexed. Good first choice for engineering/technology. Coverage: 1983-present.

Ei Compendex restricted

The most comprehensive index for scholarly research in engineering and applied science. Includes conference papers and foreign language material. Coverage 1969-present, updated weekly.
Available through Engineering Village 2.


INSPEC restricted

Indexes scientific and technical journals in physics, electrical engineering, electronics, communications, control engineering, computers and computing, and information technology. Coverage: 1969-present. Updated weekly.

Scopus restricted

Scopus is a very large abstract and indexing database primarily covering scholarly literature in science and social science. Use this to get extensive inter-disciplinary access to journal articles and also to find out which articles are being cited by other scholars. Scopus includes 14,000 peer-reviewed titles from more than 4,000 international publishers. Coverage from 1995. Tutorial

Web of Science restricted

Contains three major databases: (1) Science Citation Index Expanded (1900-present), (2) Social Sciences Citation Index (1956-present), and (3) Arts & Humanities Citation Index (1975-present). Cited Ref. Search allows users to search for articles that cite a particular author or work.Tutorial
