To find books at WMU use WestCat , the libraries online catalog. Use the "Author, Title, Subject" search to locate books by title, author, or by topic. The term "Aviation" is not a term used as a subject heading in WestCat although it is an acceptable keyword search term. When using the "Subject Search" in WestCat the following terms are suggested. Aeronautics, Air bases, Air cargo, Air charter, Air defenses, Air pilots, Aircraft, Airlines, Airports, Airport Management, Flight, Flight Control, Flight crews, Flight simulators, etc. Use the "Journal Title" search to determine if the Libraries subscribe to a particular journal.

When looking for books on particular topics, use the "Advanced Search" search mode. You should enter your key words and phrases on the lines provided, and WestCat will automatically construct the search for you. Remember to keep your search terms simple, and do not use small words and prepositions like "for," "to," "from," "with," etc. For instance, to search information about "women pilots" you would enter women in one box and pilots in the next box and select AND as the operator.
