The Science and Mathematics Association:

builds a community of those interested in mathematics and the sciences and the teaching of these content areas, involving faculty and students, at both undergraduate and graduate levels, local classroom teachers, and WMU alumni
fosters and encourages communication and collaboration among and between these groups and the public to enrich the understanding of mathematics, the sciences, and mathematics and science education
promotes life-long learning

Membership - Who Should Join?

Pre-service Teachers of Math and/or Science (K-16)
Members comprised of all levels of education within the areas of science and mathematics are welcome. Pre-service teachers are encouraged to begin professional development through our organization.

Classroom teachers
We welcome your expertise and practical knowledge. Pre-service teachers can help as well as learn from you through a variety of activities and events.

Calling All Science Ed Folk
We would like to see the scientific community get more involved. There is plenty of room for you to help expand our vision and activities.

Getting Involved

There are many opportunities to get involved with ScMaTA. Have ideas about fund raisers, want to help publicize, or are you an ace with a computer? We can use your talents. Feel free to contact an officer or simply show up at our meetings.

Want to Join? Lifetime membership dues are $15
If you attend three meetings in one school year, you will receive a $5 discount at the Spring membership banquet. To subscribe to our listserve for meeting information plus other mathematics and science education news, contact Dr. Browning, faculty advisor.
