Thermal Evaporator
Thermal Evaporator Used for Thin Film Deposition
The thermal evaporator, shown above, is used for thin film deposition, i.e., the process through which a layer of material (in nano- or micro-scale) is applied to a surface. The source material is evaporated in vacuum and then condensed on the substrate (the target material). The process is done in vacuum so that the source material does not collide with any other particles in its path to the substrate.
