WMU - School of Music
Accelerated Degree Path:
Continuation
Continuation of ADP Status:
Students admitted to ADP status can continue to enroll in approved graduate-level courses provided that they continue to meet these requirements:
-
A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 overall (music and non-music courses).
- A minimum GPA of 3.25 for all music theory, history, and aural skills, with no grade less than a 'C' at the 1000-level and no grade less than a ’B’ at the 2000-level.
- Completion of any stated prerequisites for the specific courses.
- No grade less than a ‘B’ earned for all graduate-level courses to be applied to the Master’s degree.
Eligibility will be verified by the submission of WMU grade transcripts following each semester.
Dual-Enrollment Admission:
A senior may also apply to Admissions for dual-enrollment admission if they meet the following requirements:
-
A minimum GPA of 3.0 or better for the two years prior to admission date.
-
No more than 15 credit hours remaining for completion of the bachelor’s degree.
Once granted dual-enrollment status, the student may enroll in approved graduate-level coursework which would apply toward the master’s degree only. These courses appear on the graduate transcript only and can not apply to an undergraduate degree. To be part of the MA-Mus, these courses must be approved by the Academic Area and the Graduate Advisor. Unlike the courses taken as part of the ADP, no graduate credit earned in this way may be used to meet undergraduate requirements. There is also a maximum of 12 graduate credits that may be taken under dual-enrollment. See also http://www.wmich.edu/registrar/notes/2010/11-22-10.html
