About the School of Music
The School of Music, along with the School of Art and Departments of Dance and Theatre, comprise the first College of Fine Arts to be created by a Michigan university.
Western's School of Music has nearly 438 majors with 40 full-time faculty, 34 graduate assistants, and 11 professional staff. It is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. Programs in music therapy are certified by the American Music Therapy Association.
