Where are you located and office hours?

Western Michigan University in Muskegon is located in the Stevenson Center at Muskegon Community College, 221 S. Quarterline Road, Muskegon, MI on the corner of Quarterline and Marquette.  Park in the east parking lot and walk up the walkway to the Stevenson Center.  WMU offices are in Room 1106.  Our office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What programs do you offer at WMU-Muskegon?

I am interested in one of your programs. Can I speak to an advisor?

Each program at WMU-Muskegon has an assigned academic advisor that regularly meets with students here in our office. These meetings are available by appointment and can be scheduled by calling our office for available dates and times. Telephone conferencing with advisors can be arranged as well.

Where do classes meet?

Classes are held on the third floor of the Stevenson Center. Take the elevator of stairs down to the third level. Room numbers are posted the first night of class. The main floor is 1100, the next level down is 1200, and the third level down is 1300.

How do I get a course description or syllabus?

Course descriptions are available online at the academic department site. Some course syllabi are online at the academic department site. Or call us at (231) 777-0500.

When is the computer lab available?

An open computer lab is located in Room 1106 of the Stevenson Center. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.

Where do I eat prior to class?

The Bistro (Room 109) is open until 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Vending machines are located on every floor near the elevators. In addition, many fast-food and casual restaurants are located on Apple Avenue.

What is the procedure for closing WMU-Muskegon due to inclement weather?
If can't make it to class, how do I let my instructor know?

Your instructor will usually provide you with a means of contacting him or her, either by telephone or email. If you do not have access to that information or cannot reach him or her, you may leave a message for the instructor at our office, and we will deliver that message at the earliest opportunity.

Where do I buy my books?

Most textbooks for WMU-Muskegon courses are available at Muskegon Community College Bookstore. You will need to tell them that you're a WMU student, as our texts are housed in a different section of the store. They will have a small supply of textbooks for traditional face-to-face and some Muskegon hybrid courses. All online course textbooks are available through the WMU Bookstore. Barring supply problems, texts are generally available 1-2 weeks prior to the start of class. In addition, a copy of the book list is available online and in our office.

What partnerships does WMU-Muskegon have?

WMU and Muskegon Community College
The Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering and the NEW Bachelor of Science in Recreation, offered at WMU-Muskegon, are completed in cooperation with Muskegon Community College.  To serve the needs of area residents, WMU and MCC work together to provide seamless transfer programs.  These programs allow students to take their first two years of the program at MCC and finish the last two years at WMU-Muskegon. Where can I get more information about Muskegon?

WMU-Muskegon is located in the Stevenson Center on the campus of Muskegon Community College. Numerous restaurants, hotels, businesses and shoreline are located within a five-mile radius of our campus.
