Award-winning pianist to perform benefit concert

KALAMAZOO—Award-winning pianist Kevin Cole is coming to Western Michigan University to perform an evening of Gershwin's music as part of a benefit for the WMU Music Teachers National Association, a registered student organization. The concert is set for 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. Proceeds will aid in funding a trip to the MTNA National Conference in Chicago.

Cole, an award winning pianist and vocalist, is considered the foremost Gershwin interpreter in the world today. His performances have garnered accolades from some of the foremost critics in America. He has shared the concert stage with Liza Minnelli, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, Itzhak Perlman, and friend and mentor Marvin Hamlisch.
