Deadline approaching for two assessment awards

Awards will be presented at this year's Assessment in Action Day.

KALAMAZOO—The deadline for submitting applications or nominations for two awards, the University Assessment Excellence Award and University Individual Assessment Excellence Award, is Friday, Feb. 14. Awards will be presented at the Assessment in Action Day conference on Western Michigan University's campus Friday, March 21.

University Assessment Excellence Award

The purpose of this award is to recognize and showcase outstanding efforts of a University unit in the area of assessment of student learning.

Winners of the unit award will receive a commemorative plaque in addition to campus-wide recognition. Details on award eligibility and submission requirements are online.

Individual Assessment Excellence Award

The purpose of this award is to recognize and showcase outstanding efforts of individuals who have authored or co-authored an article about assessment that has been accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal or equivalent venue.

Winners of the individual award will receive a cash prize as well as campus-wide recognition. Details on award eligibility and submission requirements are online.

The award process is overseen by the University Assessment Steering Committee.
