KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Bronco softball players maintained a collective 3.427 grade point average for the 2014-15 academic year, ranking 24th in the country.

Team GPAs were released Oct. 13 by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, or NFCA. The top school was Lipscomb University with a combined GPA of 3.645.

WMU had 15 members of last year's 18-person roster end the academic year with cumulative GPAs of 3.0 or higher. Eight of those were 3.5 or better. First baseman Marlee Wilson of South Haven led the team with a 3.93 GPA.

The Broncos also had a standout season on the field last year, as six players were recognized with All-Mid-American Conference honors, including a school-record combined five First and Second Team recognitions. WMU finished with 25 wins, 11 during conference play, and as the MAC Tournament runner-up, battling to the championship round as the No. 5 seed.
