Summer construction results in parking lot, road closures

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Minor traffic disruptions and parking lot closures will be experienced on the campus of Western Michigan University this summer as demolition begins on McCracken Hall.

Parking lot closures

The following parking lots will be closed Monday, May 1, through Friday, Aug. 4:

  • Lot 23, the lot across from Elmwood Apartments off Western Avenue
  • Lot 28, the Waldo Library lot off Arcadia Road
  • Lot 67, the Burnhams lot off Arcadia Road

Road closure

Also beginning Monday, May 1, Arcadia Road will be closed from Waldo Library to Western Avenue to make way for construction equipment. The road is expected to reopen to traffic in early August.
