Student preparation events

- Students in aviation, engineering and business may be most interested, but all students are invited to attend the aviation industry's fifth annual Educational Initiative Event at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 5, in the Bernhard Center's North Ballroom on WMU's Main Campus.
The event, which includes refreshments, is being sponsored by the Michigan Business Aviation Association and the West Michigan Business Aviation Association and hosted by the WMU College of Aviation. Support also is provided by MASCO Flight Operations and Alaska Aerofuel. Members of the two sponsoring organizations, such as Bissell Inc., Dow Chemical Co., Gulfstream Aerospace and Stryker, gather at this event each year to mentor students who are exploring careers in aviation and provide information about these careers. A panel presentation and an opportunity for students to be part of a roundtable discussion are part of the event activities.
Students who attend are encouraged to continue their networking April 6 by talking with the many company representatives who will be at WMU's Aviation Outlook Day.
