Community College Competitive Transfer Scholarships
New, first-time, domestic transfer students transferring from a community college in- or out-of-state may compete for one of the following awards. Students must have earned at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (as calculated by the Office of Admissions) and completed 24 college credit hours for consideration. Additional criteria are required for certain awards. Students who believe they meet the scholarship criteria should apply for admission, request official transcripts (from all institutions attended) be sent to WMU's Office of Admissions, and submit the online scholarship application by the extended deadline of April 6, 2018.
Alumni Legacy scholarships
The Western Michigan University Alumni Association recognizes the loyalty of multi-generational Bronco families with the Legacy Scholarships. Applicants who are a child, grandchild, step-grandchild, sibling or spouse of a WMU alumna or alumnus are encouraged to apply. Siblings of current students may also apply. These awards are not guaranteed and students must submit an online scholarship application by February 1, 2018.
Financial Aid Endowed scholarships
These awards are made possible through endowments established by WMU's many generous donors over the years. Criteria and amounts vary by scholarship, so review each scholarship for specific details. Only one application is required to apply for more than 30 awards. The application will be available in December 2017. Students must file the FAFSA by February 14, 2018 and must deliver the scholarship application to the Student Financial Aid Office by February 15, 2018. Visit the Student Financial Aid website for complete scholarship listings and applications and call (269) 387-6000 for questions.

There are no restrictions or requirements regarding major, minor or military branch. The award amount is $500 and students may reapply annually for the award.
