How to Find a Proctor and Request an Exam

Students living in the Kalamazoo area

  • You may choose to have our office proctor the exam at the EUP testing center located on WMU's main campus in Ellsworth Hall, Room 3202.
  • Please call or email the online form at least 48 hours in advance to schedule an exam.
  • Our testing times are: 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday − Friday.

Students living outside the Kalamazoo area

  • WMU has regional sites located in Battle Creek, Benton Harbor, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Metro Detroit, Muskegon, and Traverse City that can proctor exams for online courses at no charge. Please call (several days in advance) the WMU regional site to schedule a testing time. For the WMU Lansing site please call (517) 483-9728 to schedule a proctored exam at least three days before you want to take the exam.
  • Students who are not near a WMU regional site must contact and arrange to have their exam proctored at a local public library or community college or other testing center available in your area.
  • If you will be taking the exam at a WMU regional site or other location, you need to contact the regional site or alternate location and schedule a time to have your exam proctored. This information should be received by the Online Education office 48 hours before you are scheduled to take the exam. Our office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you wish to email your request, please email to online-education@wmich.edu.
  • Exams or instructions for online exams are sent directly to the proctor and in order to be valid, must be returned by the proctor. All students are required to present picture identification before taking exams. Exam information will be sent to your proctor after the online form is completed.
