Professional Master's Degree Program

This program is for students who hold a bachelor's degree. It provides solid preparation for entry-level, generalist clinical practice.

The 28-month program of full-time study begins in the fall of each academic year and includes:

  • 22 months of academic study for 64 credit hours of coursework.
  • Six months of field work experience for six credit hours leading to the award of the Master of Science degree and eligibility to take the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy examination.

Locations

In addition to WMU’s main campus in Kalamazoo, Mich., the M.S. in occupational therapy program is offered at our Grand Rapids regional location. While the requirements are the same, courses at WMU regional locations are tailored toward adult non-traditional students, featuring evening and weekend classes. Check course listings or visit the Extended University Programs website for more information.
