Paper Engineering Mill Night, Friday, October 26th , 4-6 p.m.,
and Paper Engineering Open House, Saturday,
October 27th, 1:30-30 p.m.


Please join us on Friday, October 26th, from 4-6 p.m., for a behind-the-scenes tour of Paper Engineering Mill, the nation's largest paper recycling mill, located in downtown Kalamazoo. WMU Paper Engineering representatives and students, along with Paper Engineering Mill engineers and Bronco Alumni will introduce the career concept of Paper Engineering. Parents and students are invited to tour this facility to see first-hand how paper is recycled and then immediately made into boxboard again. Dinner will be served.

Then, on Saturday, October 27th, join us from 1:30 to 3:30 in the afternoon for an in-depth Open House on Paper Engineering as a major, our 60+ year old program at WMU, career opportunities, Paper Technology Foundation Scholarships of $26,000+. Plus, meet with current WMU PE students and faculty and take a tour of our modern $72 million Engineering College. The event is free but you must register by email to: katherine.miller@wmich.edu.  Please include your name, high school name and expected graduation date, ACT math and science scores, and your mailing address and phone number, along with the total number of persons attending. Refreshments will be provided. Upon receiving your information, you will receive a confirmation note from Kate Miller with directions and agendas.

Fifth Annual WMU Research and Creative Activities Poster Day, April 15th, 2011
Dania Al Said , Hemant Bohra and Reem El Asaleh were chosen by the PCI Department to represent the department at the Celebration of Research and Creative Activities Poster Day that was held on Friday, April 15th in the Fetzer Center.

Dania and Reem was part of the top 19 graduate students to win an award to recognize the outstanding graduate student posters/displays. They were awarded with $200 each.
