K-12 Tutoring and Mentoring Services

Through several grants, Western Michigan University students engage in service-learning opportunities that address issues of college access for all youth and families in the southwest Michigan area. A partnership has been established between the University and local community to provide families with information to ensure an understanding of the process and preparation for a post-secondary education. An additional goal is to ensure that participants are aware of the application process for the Kalamazoo Promise Scholarship and subsequently have access to a post-secondary education upon graduation.

This program is funded by the Michigan Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs and WMU's Office of Precollege Programming.
