Kalamazoo County’s Relay for Life planning is underway with this year’s theme being “Serving Up a Cure”. Carol Morris-Mier and Bekki Spanjer are co-chairing the WMU, PSSO & Friends team named “Serving it Up Western Style”. The event will be held at Portage Central High School May 31-June 1, 2014. This is not just a PSSO event, all are welcome.Luminaries will be available to purchase. If you would like to participate, donate, or need more information, contact Carol at 7-3475 or Bekki at 7-4721.

Washington Writers' Academy

In continuing a longstanding tradition of providing support to students in the Kalamazoo community, members of Western Michigan University's Professional Support Staff Organization provided emergency red-bag supplies to classrooms at Washington Writers' Academy. The supplies will support drills and procedures, and keep students and teachers safe in the case of an emergency.
