F45 Functional Training is launching the first F45 college campus studio  in Michigan (sixth in the United States) at Western Michigan University on Tuesday, September 5. Located in racquetball court 1 at the Student Recreation Center, the F45 studio incorporates technology into an array of circuit-based workouts in a team environment to provide a totally immersive experience that is fun and fast.

What is F45?

F45 is a functional training program that incorporates a variety of fun and efficient workouts. Classes are a 45 minute high intensity, circuit training workout. There are 27 different workouts delivered through a series of televisions mounted on the front wall. The workouts are created by F45 Training Headquarters from a database of over 3,000 different exercises. Each day of the week has a different focus and workout. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are cardio days, while Tuesdays and Thursdays focus on strength-based training. Classes held on Saturdays and Sundays are a hybrid of cardio and strength training.

How are classes structured?

The TVs that are mounted on the wall provide an organized, station-by-station diagram for the workout. This provides a visual tool for participants to move from station to station throughout the workout. Each station has a group working together and encouraging each other to successfully perform each exercise. Trained F45 instructors are in every class to help with exercise modifications, motivation and encouragement. Class capacities are still being determined. Current capacities are 27 on cardio days, 18 on strength days and hybrid days vary by workout.

How can I reserve a spot in class?

Reservations spots are only available to those patrons that have purchased a F45 membership. Your spot can be reserved up to 24 hours in advance in person at the SRC or by phone on the day of the class. For more information, download our F45 policies & procedures document.

What do I do when I come for class?

All F45 class attendees must check-in at the service desk to obtain a pass. Anyone that has reserved a spot must arrive to check-in at the service desk 10 minutes prior to the start of class. Non-reserved spots are available on a walk-up basis on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information, download our F45 policies & procedures document.

Private Classes

Would you like to book an exclusive F45 class for your group? We are offering private F45 classes for departments, registered student organizations and sport clubs. Class fees include two F45 instructors and a complete 45 minute class. Complete the inquiry form below, and one of our staff members will contact you about availability. Please give provide two weeks advance notice in order for us to secure instructors for your requested time.
