Diplomas are mailed approximately two weeks after the commencement ceremony. You verify your address by logging into GoWMU. In order to receive your diploma, you must meet your financial obligations to WMU. If you have an outstanding financial obligation greater than $100 your diploma will be held until your account is paid in full.
Your diploma will list your name as it appears on your application for graduation, degree, majors and applicable honors. Your minor, track and certification will be listed only on your transcript. Prospective employers can verify degrees at the National Student Clearinghouse.
Students who have graduated on or after the spring 2013 semester have the option of receiving a signed and certified PDF copy of their Western Michigan University diploma. An eDiploma provides graduates with a secure and convenient way to verify their WMU education. The email sent to graduates when the hard copy is mailed will now include a secure login ID and information on how to request an eDiploma.
There is a one-time fee of $5, but the PDF can be retrieved any time at no additional charge. Once an eDiploma is ordered, it will be sent via email as a high-resolution color Adobe Certified PDF file. A certified eDiploma assures the recipient that the document is authentic, comes from a verified source and has not been tampered with.
Ordering a duplicate or replacement diploma has never been easier. Western Michigan University has partnered with the
Michael Sutter Company to provide a simple and secure way to order a duplicate or replacement diploma.
