Bio:
Dr. Jay Hoinville joined Western Michigan University part time as Entrepreneur-In-Residence in 2008. He currently holds the position Senior Project Manager/Programmer Analyst. Previously, he spent 25 years in the magnetic recording industry as a research and development engineer during which he published peer-reviewed journal articles and presented at national conferences on the measurement of magnetic “noise” in computer storage media; the characterization of novel magnetic recording media; and the micromagnetic modeling of magnetic thin-films. He is a serial entrepreneur and has founded two companies (Micromagnetica and RecoverE) and was a team member of a startup company (Nanomagnetics). Jay is a National Science Foundation Fellow.
