Steven D. Prince, senior military science instructor in Western Michigan University's Department of Military Science and Leadership, is a contract employee with Engility. He is a major in the United States Army Reserve, serving in the logistics branch and was commissioned through Army ROTC at Michigan State University in 1997. Prince enlisted in the Army in 1990 after high school and joined ROTC in the Simultaneous Membership Program while attending MSU. He is originally from Jenison, Mich.

His previous assignments include: stinger gunner, 11th BDE Fort Bliss, Texas; platoon leader, ADA Battery 3d ACR, Fort Carson, Colo.; executive officer HHC, 46th IN BDE; HHC commander, 46th IN BDE; movement control officer, 46th MP Command; and commander, 1460th Transportation Co.

His deployments include Operation Desert Storm as a private and Operation Iraqi Freedom as a captain.

His military education includes Basic Training, Fort Sill, Okla.; Stinger AIT, Fort Bliss, Texas; and ADA Officer Basic Course, Combined Arms Exercise, and Transportation Officer Advanced Course, Fort Eustis, Va.
