November 19, 2003 (How to design an Inquiry Lesson)

February 18, 2004 ( How to assess an Inquiry Lesson)

March 24, 2004  (Collaborating for Student Success on actual lessons)

April 28, 2004  (Collaborating for Student Success on actual lessons)

 

Time:  3:15-5:15

 

Series Goals:  The sessions will be based upon current research on Inquiry Based Science.  Participants will take part in the following:

1.     Identifying different types of inquiry.

2.     Analyzing how inquiry can be implemented into their classrooms.

3.     Examining how to assess inquiry.

4.     Designing an inquiry lesson from your own current teaching materials.

5.     Designing an assessment piece for that lesson.

6.     Collaborating for Student Success (Coalition of Essential Schools model) by sharing lessons, student work, and videos with a group of experienced teachers. 

 

Participants will receive materials to support the goals of the series.

 

Food and beverages will be provided.
