Quality teachers are a significant
variable in student success and programs that support teacher professional development
are especially crucial for teachers at the middle level.
E3 works to support the development of learning communities
within the local school districts. Learning communities help beginning teachers
develop and define effective instructional practices. They also validate and
strengthen the skills of veteran teachers who are rejuvenated by sharing their
experience and expertise with beginners.
The E3 program also offers a series of workshops for local
in-service middle school teachers that are designed to provide opportunities
for teachers to refine their knowledge, understanding, and abilities as they
grow professionally.

The E3 grant project is also benefiting participating faculty and teachers who take part in it. Click here for the perspective of our first teacher in residence, Ms. Candis Collick, on how she has benefited professionally from her participation on the project.
