Her mother said Lenye’s name came from a rare flower. If that’s the case (Lenye has since looked into it and found many meanings), we hope these flowers will become much less rare. Lenye has goals and will be a force in this world.
“I love giving people advice,” Lenye says. “I like helping people sort through their problems.” She’s good at it, too. And she’ll be honing those skills at Western while majoring in psychology.
Lenye visited a lot of schools, but WMU was the only one that really stood out. Talking to current psychology students and hearing about the internships they have earned and can earn got Lenye very excited about the program.
While a student, Lenye hopes to initiate and spearhead Challenge Day, an event held in a number of high schools that breaks down barriers and helps students expand their comfort zones while combating real-world issues.
After graduating, Lenye plans to start her own organization along the lines of UNICEF to help end starvation and violence all around the world.
