There’s a lot of talk about pre-law and pre-med among college students, but rarely does a freshman come in with such a clear focus as Tacy. She wants to go into law, possibly international law. Thus, she’ll be majoring in Latin with three minors: history, philosophy and political science.
Make sense? Sure it does. Her minors will give her the background and knowledge she needs to help her understand the world and thus, the law. Her major will mean if she does indeed go into international law, she’ll have a strong base of Latin, meaning she’ll be able to pick up a romance language fairly easily.
It’s very obvious Tacy is not a person you’d want to take on in the court room.
On top of her career path, she’s excited to participate in WMU’s marching band and also plans to take on a part-time job, although she admits she won’t need the job as much now that she’s a Medallion Scholar. Still, she wants to work. She’s a driven individual.
Tacy’s advice to prospective students is to look into all options. At Western, she mentions how diverse and abundant the programs and courses are and how almost everyone can find a spot of interest in which to excel here.
