Bio

Dr. Cousins joined the School of Social Work faculty July 1, 2009.  He served as Assistant Professor in the school from 1994-99.  After leaving the school, he served as Associate Professor of Anthropology at Kalamazoo College, Associate Professor and Interim Chair in the Social Work Department at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Professor and Chair of the Department of Social Work and Communications Sciences and Disorders at Longwood University in Virginia.  Dr. Cousins' teaching interests include practice with individuals, families and communities, and human diversity and inequality in contexts of K-12 education, and community and family life.  His research centers on culture, education and inequality in the contexts of community and family life.
