The Department of Sociology at Western Michigan University offers internship opportunities which help prepare students for graduate school or careers in sociology and criminal justice.


application process

  1. All students must arrange an individual interview with Dr. Zoann Snyder, Criminal Justice Program Director. The interview must be arranged directly with Dr. Snyder via email at and will take about 20 minutes.  Dr. Snyder's office hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30-3:45.

  2. Students will bring a copy of their resume to their interview.
  3. At the conclusion of the interview, students will be given access to an actual application and information about the required supporting documentation.



Summer and Fall 2018 internship applications are due February 2, 2018.
