Various financial aid programs, scholarships, and assistantships are available to both students who are just entering and to those already in a graduate program through the School of Public Affairs and Administration. Please follow the links for more information.
Please note: the Graduate Certificates in Nonprofit Leadership and Administration and Health Care Administration are non-degree seeking programs which may not qualify for certain financial aid or scholarships. If you have questions, please contact our office.

- Margaret and Leo Stine Endowed Memorial Scholarship

- A. Robert Kleiner Memorial Scholarship
is sponsored by the WMU-AAUP. The scholarship is available to any student who will be enrolled at WMU during Fall Semester 2013 or Spring Semester 2014 and has interest or experience in the field of collective bargaining and/or labor relations. Applications are invited from students who are pro-labor. The scholarship provides a $1,500 stipend for either the Fall 2013 or Spring 2014 semester. Application deadline is Friday, June 7, 2013.
- George and Beatrice Fisher Gerontology Dissertation Prize - This annual award recognizes doctoral dissertations that best advance the study and understanding of issues that surround the process of aging and elderly populations, as these individuals encounter various life experiences associated with aging. The prize may be awarded in any discipline or field. Candidates must be in good standing and must be currently enrolled in Dissertation Credit (7300). Application deadline is Friday, May 17, 2013.
- Western Michigan University Dames Endowed Scholarship for Spring 2013 - The Graduate College will receive nominations on behalf of eligible graduate students in Spring 2013 for the Western Michigan University Dames Endowed Scholarship. First awarded in 1997 in accordance with an agreement made between Western Michigan University and the WMU Women’s Association, the scholarship is offered on a competitive basis to exceptional graduate students enrolled in a graduate degree program at WMU. Both men and women may apply for this scholarship, but by the terms of the agreement, preference is given to women. The scholarship is provided to assist the recipient with tuition payment, fees, purchase of books. Candidates must be in good academic standing, have successfully completed at least 15 graduate credit hours, and must demonstrate financial need. Application deadline is Friday, May 17, 2013.
