
At more than 1100 colleges and universities, students earn financial aid by tutoring children and families in reading. WMU supports and participates in The America Reads Challenge by placing work-study eligible student tutors in community schools where they help elementary school children improve their reading skills.

Community Service Work Study positions allow you to earn your federal work-study award at local non-profit agencies. This offers unique opportunities for students interested in careers in human services to gain insight and field-related skills and experience, and to begin building a professional network.
