In surveys given to WMU students preparing to go abroad, students overwhelmingly indicate that the two largest influences on their decision to study abroad are a professor and/or another student who studied abroad. The Study Abroad Alumni Ambassadors are a registered student organization that asks study abroad alumni to exercise and expand this positive influence that they have on their peers’ decision to study abroad.

What do Study Abroad Alumni Ambassadors do?

Study Abroad Alumni Ambassadors help increase the visibility of study abroad through classroom presentations, tabling, and other events planned and implemented by them.

Who can apply to be a Study Abroad Alumni Ambassador? 

Students who have earned a 3.0 or higher in a study abroad course during their time at WMU are eligible to apply.  Students who use the Ambassadors to fulfill a requirement for a class, college, and/or scholarship are welcome!

How and when to apply for a position in the Study Abroad Alumni Ambassadors?
