Ryan Oliveira is a Brazilian-American playwright, dramaturg, and performer currently based in Chicago.  Recent credits include: Jellyfish Queer (reading at Victory Gardens Theatre, 2018), stray (workshop reading atChicago Dramatists, 2017), and short plays produced by NoPassport Theatre in 2017 (Migration) and 2016 (Here (three elegies for a gay club)).  He has been a finalist for the 2016 Fetzer Foundation for Emerging Artists Grant (Passing Time in Animal Town) and 2017 Many Voices Fellowship at the Playwrights’ Center.  He has also been a 2016 Romulus Linney Scholar at the Sewanee Writers’ Conference (Chaos); and a semi-finalist for the O’Neill Theatre Conference (Chaos, 2017; The Rigel Event, 2014).  His play, Desire in a Tinier House, will receive its world premiere production at Pride Films and Plays in June of 2019.  He has also served as dramaturg with The New Colony on Spenser Davis’ Merge (October 2016) and Michael Allen Harris’ Punk (October 2017).  MFA: The University of Iowa (2015); BA: Cornell University (2008).  You can check out more of his work at: www.ryanoliveira.com.
