Western Michigan University's trombone studio typically includes about 16-20 select majors, approximately half who major in trombone performance and half in music education or another area of music. Four to five new students are admitted to the studio each year out of those who audition. Students in the studio have a weekly lesson with the professor. They also have the opportunity to meet with various renowned guest trombone artists who visit campus throughout the year.
