30 Matters

25...30...35 matters at WMU

Why 30 Matters? It is our expectation that for every hour you spend in class, you will spend two hours outside of class studying (e.g., doing homework, researching for your paper, reading your textbook and supplemental materials, writing lab reports, etc.). So, if you are a full-time student, you should plan on spending approximately 30 hours each week studying for your classes.

Study Tip #25: Make flash cards for information you need to memorize. (The cards can even be scraps of paper.) Carry them with you. Then, when you have to wait in line at the grocery store, wait for the bus to arrive, wait for your classroom to be available, etc., you can pull them out and study. Those few minutes will add up toward your 30 hours of studying and help you learn the material so studying for your exams will be smoother.
