Sept. 11, 1997

KALAMAZOO -- Three prominent leadership theorists will be featured in a live teleconference being sponsored by Western Michigan University from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in the Campus Cinema, located in Oakland Recital Hall at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Street in Kalamazoo.

Presenters for the satellite program, entitled "The Nonprofit Leader of the Future," are Peter F. Drucker, the acknowledged "father of modern management;" Max De Pree, the author of two best-selling books on leadership and former chief executive officer of Herman Miller; and Frances Hesselbein, president and chief executive officer of the Drucker Foundation.

The teleconference provides an interactive televised forum for the three world-renowned speakers to present insights, proven methodologies and helpful case material.

It is designed for executives, board members, volunteers and staff members who want to expand their leadership capabilities and learn to better identify the needs of their workers, volunteers and other constituents. Topics to be covered include lessons in leadership, identifying the needs of followers and leading through mission. The program also will include a national question and answer session.

The cost to participate is $30 per person. For additional details or to register, call WMU's Office of Professional Programs and Conferences at 616 387-4174 or fax the office at 616 387-4189.
